A fishing vessel was reported to have run aground at Elgol yesterday (Sunday 26 May.)

Portree and Kyle Coastguard Rescue Teams attended the scene and found nobody was at risk.

There had also been reports of pollution from a hole in the vessel.  The Coastguard say this has been passed to Highland Council for further action.

A Highland Council spokesperson said: "The Highland Council, along with Marine Scotland and SNH, is aware that a vessel has run aground off the coast of Elgol.

"We are currently awaiting a full report on this matter but the information we have to date would indicate that environmental impact is minimal."
