Plans are in place to make next year's Skye Marathon sustainable.

Organisers will be looking for ways to make the popular event even more eco-friendly, including analysing their plastic usage, the dyes in their T-shirts and the medals.

Organisers have said: "We have been reviewing the race's sustainability over the last year, but there is still some work to be done if we are to get it right."

"For example our location makes some options less sustainable, due to transportation impact.

"The good news is 2020 will be the year of the Sustainable Skye Half Marathon, we will use the forth coming year to look at everything from plastic usage, to dyes in our t-shirts to medals.

"If you have been to a race where you have seem something great in operation, we'd love to hear from you."
