Members of the public are encouraged to have their say on how community councils are treated and governed.
The Highland Council is holding a public consultation on proposals and are looking for ideas and changes to the Community Council Scheme Review 2018 - 2019.
This is also an opportunity for the public to suggest changes to the boundaries of Community Councils.
The Scheme for Community Councils sets out the rules on how Community Councils should operate.
The consultation began in March and will run until 31 May 2019.
At the Special Meeting of The Highland Council in January 2019, Members agreed to the Scheme’s review and that draft proposals informed by earlier engagement with Community Councils would be the focus of a public consultation.
Details on the review and how people can respond, can be found on the Council’s website at: www.highland.gov.uk/communitycouncils.
